Pedal for Peace

Get yourself in gear for the 25th anniversary Pedal for Peace Bike-a-thon on October 6! Registration begins at 1:00pm at the Waveland Clock Tower, riders pedal off at 1:30pm, followed by a fiesta and short program at 3:30pm.

Participating in this annual 12 or 24 mile ride along Chicago's lakefront bike path can be your way in 2012 to raise funds for local solidarity organizations Chicago -Cinquera Sister Cities, Chicago-Guatemala Partnership, Concern America, and La Voz de los de Abajo. They in turn support rural and/or indigenous communities in El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia and Honduras in their efforts to access health care and medical equipment, educate children and adults, and build up community organizations. In addition, 20% of the money you raise will support the education, action and advocacy efforts of CRLN.

This year, the 25th anniversary of Pedal for Peace, CRLN is looking for 25 people to be "Spokespersons," who will each pledge to raise $250 or more from sponsors. A sponsor can be an individual, congregation, business, or other group who will pledge money to you for Pedal for Peace projects. Will you be a "Spokesperson" for peace, justice and human rights in Latin America this year?
